Extending Your Visa Exemption in Bangkok, Thailand

This is a video explaining how to extend your visa exemption in Bangkok, Thailand. Americans, and many other western expats qualify for a visa exemption. This means when you arrive, you are not on a tourist visa. You are simply exempt from needing a visa for the first 30 days. You may apply for one visa exemption extension after your original 30 days for a total of 60 days. If you plan to stay in Thailand more than 60 days, you need to apply for a visa at a Thai embassy or consulate outside of the country. This is commonly known as a “border run.”
