The 189 visa story

This story is based on the number of Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) lodged from NewZealand(NZ) Stream in the 189 visa disclosed by the Department of Home affairs @ in response to a relevant Freedom of Information(FOI) application. This story is all about the impact of the NZ stream over the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) (Points-tested) stream if at all there is an impact. There are three characters in this tale namely Optimist, Pessimist and Realist. The optimist predicts there will be up to 4338 invitations per month in the 189 points tested stream. The pessimist, on the other hand, foretells that there were 9155 visa applications lodged until 3 January 2018 and that more 7744 would be submitted by 30 June 2018 making it a significant figure of 16,899 leaving no more invitations from the 189 – points tested stream. The realist doing justice to his name does not predict at all.

In the first few minutes of the video, I give a background to the story. In the first four months of the financial year 2017-18, there were 2069 visa applications from NZ stream and precisely 10000 visa invitations received by 189 visa aspirants. The total planning level for 189 visas in this financial year is 43,990.

As present is somehow connected to the past and future is connected to the present, the big question is on the number of invitations per round from February 2018 to the end of June 2018. Please leave your comments based on your analysis.
