1 July Changes Round-Up | AMVL Migrations

In recent months, there has been a lot of talk around the immigration changes that are coming into effect on 1 July 2017. As this is the last week of June, we have pulled together a comprehensive list of changes that will and will not be in effect from 1 July. 

 

The following is a summary of changes that will be in effect from 1 July 2017:

 

Visa Application Charges (VACs) 

Employer Nominated Visas

SC 457

Skilled Migration

SC 189

SC 189 – New Zealand Citizens

  • New stream for New Zealand citizens

  • No Age limit for this visa subclass  

  • Income thresholds – the applicant must have been earning at or above the following thresholds in the 5 years immediately prior to an application:

    • 2012/13: $51,400​

    • 2013/14: $53,900

    • 2014/15: $53,900

    • 2015/16: $53,900

    • 2016/17: $53,900

  • Income threshold exemptions have been announced and apply for certain circumstances
